INTRODUCTION

 

Conference “Management and Safety - M&S” reached 18th edition due to loyal authors and participants and hereby joined the rank of successful traditional and international scientific and professional conferences.

The conference has a successful history, and a promising future: human, social and economic aspects of safety, the constant emergence of new risks, and thus the need for effective and preventive measures and forms of protection, and, above all, the need for international cooperation in research and development of safety management.

Since the first conference held 2006th year (M&S 2006) to the 17th Conference (M&S 2022) gathered a total of 2537 authors and participants: presented a total of 725 papers, which were reviewed and categorized as scientific and professional papers published in full in the proceedings of a total of 7370 pages.

18th International Conference “Management and Safety - M&S 2023” has the current topic “Management of chemical, biological and radiological risks and safety”.

INTRODUCTION

 

Conference “Management and Safety - M&S” reached 17th edition due to loyal authors and participants and hereby joined the rank of successful traditional and international scientific and professional conferences.

 

The conference has a successful history, and a promising future: human, social and economic aspects of safety, the constant emergence of new risks, and thus the need for effective and preventive measures and forms of protection, and, above all, the need for international cooperation in research and development of safety management.

 

Since the first conference held 2006th year (M&S 2006) to the 16th Conference (M&S 2021) gathered a total of 2,402 authors and participants: presented a total of 710 papers, which were reviewed and categorized as scientific and professional papers published in full in the proceedings of a total of 7,243 pages.

 

In the last years by the program cycle: “Basic functions of management and safety” (M&S 2010 - M&S 2014) conferences topics were: “Planning and safety”, “Organization and safety”, “Human resources management and safety”, “Leading and safety” and “Controlling and safety”. That program cycle presented relationship between safety and basic functions of management, thoroughly and in a unique way in global terms of the profession and science of management and safety. Previously, conferences topics were “Integrated management system and safety” (M&S 2008), “Crisis management and safety” (M&S 2009).

 

The new program cycle of conference titled “Modern concepts of management and safety” determined with the annual topics: “Stress management and safety” (M&S 2015), “Sustainable development and safety” (M&S 2016), “Knowledge management and safety” (M&S 2017), “Project management and safety” (M&S 2018) Process management and Safety” (M&S 2019), “Information system management and safety” (M&S 2020) and “Risk and crisis management (accent on COVID-19 pandemic)”  (M&S 2021). Those themes are a challenge for an international cooperation on scientific research and development projects, solving problems and providing models of synergy of modern concepts of management and safety of people, property and environment.

 

17th International Conference “Management and Safety - M&S 2022” has the current topic “Business continuity management and safety”.

INTRODUCTION

 

Conference “Management and Safety - M&S” reached 13th edition due to loyal authors and participants and hereby joined the rank of successful traditional and international scientific and professional conferences.

 

The conference has a successful history, and a promising future: human, social and economic aspects of safety, the constant emergence of new risks, and thus the need for effective and preventive measures and forms of protection, and, above all, the need for international cooperation in research and development of safety management.

 

Since the first conference held 2006th year (M&S 2006) to the 12th Conference (M&S 2017) gathered a total of 1,884 authors and participants: presented a total of 574 papers, which were reviewed and categorized as scientific and professional papers published in full in the proceedings of a total of 5,910 pages.

 

In the last years by the program cycle: “Basic functions of management and safety” (M&S 2010 - M&S 2014) conferences topics were: “Planning and safety”, “Organization and safety”, “Human resources management and safety”, “Leading and safety” and “Controlling and safety”. That program cycle presented relationship between safety and basic functions of management, thoroughly and in a unique way in global terms of the profession and science of management and safety. Previously, conferences topics were “Integrated management system and safety” (M&S 2008), “Crisis management and safety” (M&S 2009).

 

A new five-year program cycle of conference titled “Modern concepts of management and safety” determined with the annual topics: “Stress management and safety” (M&S 2015), “Sustainable development and safety” (M&S 2016), “Knowledge management and safety” (M&S 2017), “Project management and safety” (M&S 2018) and Process Management and Safety” (M&S 2019). Those themes are a challenge for an international cooperation on scientific research and development projects, solving problems and providing models of synergy of modern concepts of management and safety of people, property and environment.

INTRODUCTION

 

Conference “Management and Safety M&S” reached 10th anniversary edition due to loyal authors and participants and hereby joined the rank of successful traditional and international scientific and professional conferences.

 

The conference has a successful history, and also a promising future: human, social and economic aspects of safety, the constant emergence of new risks, and thus the need for effective and preventive measures and forms of protection, and, above all, the need for international cooperation in research and development of safety management.

 

Since the first conference held 2006th year (M&S 2006) to the 10th Conference (M&S 2015) gathered a total of 1,655 authors and participants: presented a total of 483 papers, which were reviewed and categorized as scientific and professional papers published in full in the printed proceedings of a total of 4,975 pages.

 

In the last five years the cycle program: “Basic functions of management and safety” (M&S 2010 - M&S 2014) covered the following topics: “Planning and Safety”, “Organization and safety”, “Human Resources Management and Safety”, “Management and Safety” and “Controlling and Safety”. The program cycle presented relationship of safety and basic functions of management, thoroughly and in a unique way in global terms of the profession and science of management and safety. Previously, conferences on the topics: “Integrated Management System” (M&S 2008) and “Crisis Management” (M&S 2009) were also held.

 

A new five-year program cycle conference titled “Modern concepts of management and safety” was determined with the annual theme: “Stress management and Safety” (M&S 2015), “Sustainable development and Safety” (M&S 2016), “Knowledge management and Safety” (M& S 2017), “Project and processes management and Safety” (M&S 2018) and “Safety information systems management” (M&S 2019). Those themes are a real challenge for international cooperation on scientific research and development projects, solving problems and providing models of synergy of modern concepts of management and safety of people, property and the environment.

 

The 10th International Conference “Management and Safety - M&S 2015” covers the current topic “Stress management and Safety”. Stress management is also a topic of two years (2014th-2015th) campaign of The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (OSHA). This creates an opportunity for the Conference M&S 2015 and its organizers, as well as all the authors and participants in the Conference to be partners of this campaign.

INTRODUCTION

 

Based on the positive experiences of the previous eight conferences and confirmed legitimate need to gather experts and scholars from the fields of management and safety, with the aim of further improvement of the cooperation, methodologies and synergies of these two areas, it is organized 9th Conference "Management and Safety - M&S 2014".

The program cycle continues and finishes "Basic management functions and safety" and the following last theme of the cycle is "Controlling and Safety".

Controlling, as the fifth basic management function, integrates all management roles (information, interpersonal, decision making) and all safety functions (protection, defense and rescue).

Controlling refers to all areas of modern occupational and public safety of people, property and the environment (occupational safety and health, fire and explosion protection, environmental protection, physical and technical protection of persons and property, civil protection, defence, information system protection, financial protection, insurance, etc.), as well as the international standards for risk and safety and security management systems, and all that based on common goals of improving safety and welfare of people, organization, environment and society.
